An IDO is a paid on-chain sale that runs inside a time window. Before going live, confirm four things: what buyers pay with, the rate they convert at, how many project tokens you have set aside for claims, and where referral rewards come from.
- Decide how referral rewards get paidTwo options, and they decide what you have to fund. Pay in the payment token and the reward is split straight out of what the buyer sent, so the referrer is credited right away and you need no extra token. Pay in a reward token and you pick that token, bind it in the console after deployment, and deposit a pool for it.
- Set the schedule and payment tokenStart and end time define this round’s window. The payment token can be the native coin or any token on that chain. An ERC-20 payment token costs the buyer one extra approval; the native coin does not.
- Enter caps and rateLeave the min and max per wallet blank for no limit. The rate is how many IDO tokens one payment token buys. It decides exactly how many tokens each buyer gets, and it cannot be changed on-chain — a wrong rate is a week of explaining, not a fix.
- Build the referral ladderUp to 8 levels, each up to 100%. The deeper the ladder, the more you need to do the math first: paid in the payment token, rewards come out of what buyers contribute; paid in a reward token, the pool you deposit has to cover all of it.
- Enter the payout address and deployThe payout address is where the raised funds end up. If you want a memorable contract address, scan a vanity one before you deploy. Check the rate, caps, schedule and payout address once before you sign and once after.
- Finish the page in the consoleDeployment only builds the skeleton. Logo, banner, project description, social links, plus the reward token and its pool, all get filled in from the console. See My IDOs & console for that part.
Careful · Check every parameter before you go live
A wrong rate, wallet cap, schedule, reward token or pool balance turns into days of answering questions in your community. Pay rewards in a reward token but never fund the pool and buyers have nothing to claim when the round closes. This flow has no automatic refund switch — any refund policy is yours to state and honor. Run one round on testnet or with small amounts first.
