Vanity wallets

Filter addresses by a prefix or suffix and use the one you like. Scanning runs locally, costs no gas, and gets slower with every extra character.

  1. Set the patternYou can set a prefix (the start of the address) or a suffix (the end). Around 4 characters is plenty. Only 0-9 and a-f are valid — Ethereum addresses are hexadecimal, so any letter past f cannot appear.
  2. Start scanningScanning runs in your own browser: no network calls, no transactions, no gas. Every extra character multiplies the attempts by roughly 16, so 4 characters takes tens of thousands of tries and 5 takes hundreds of thousands.
  3. Back up the moment it matchesThe result is again just an address and a private key, gone on refresh. Copy or download the CSV first, then fund it.

Careful · A vanity address is just a nicer-looking address

A pretty ending is not more secure and does not make people trust you more. Do not leave it running for hours to hit a longer pattern — the time costs more than the pattern is worth.
