Bitcoin Magazine Cold Storage Goes South: bitcoin++ Announces Antarctica Edition
Bitcoin developers have gathered all around the world in places like Austin, Berlin, and Florianópolis, to name a few. In early 2028, a group of them plans to meet at the bottom of the world. bitcoin++ has announced Antarctica: Cold Storage Edition, scheduled for January 24 to February 5, 2028. There are only 22 spots available.
The event pairs a technical conference with an expedition ship that departs from Ushuaia, Argentina, crosses the Drake Passage, explores the Antarctic Peninsula, and returns to Ushuaia.
The event plays on bitcoin’s cold storage , the practice of keeping keys offline. The organizers describe the trip as a way to take the conversation somewhere colder, with room for discussions that would otherwise fit into a hallway.
